Besides petrol and diesel, the government also reset the price of blue diesel for farming and fishing and of liquefied petroleum gas. Both rise by 1 cent. The table shows the caps from 27 October, last week's values and the price the government calculates without its intervention (Government, 19 October, Novi list).
| Fuel | From 27 Oct | Until 26 Oct | Without intervention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eurosuper 95 (€/l) | 1.69 | 1.73 | 1.83 |
| Eurodiesel (€/l) | 1.88 | 1.87 | 2.19 |
| Blue diesel (€/l) | 1.44 | 1.43 | 1.52 |
| LPG, bottles (€/kg) | 2.35 | 2.34 | 2.58 |
| LPG, tanks (€/kg) | 1.77 | 1.76 | 1.88 |
Croatia keeps the gap to the free market price small through a reduced excise duty and capped trader margins. For petrol the government raised the excise duty by 2 cents a litre and the margin by 1 cent this time, and the price per litre still falls. On Monday morning Croatian media, citing unofficial figures, had expected a cut of 8 cents; a barrel of Brent then cost around 114.50 dollars, according to Glas Istre. Over two weeks petrol is now 5 cents cheaper and diesel 5 cents dearer: on 19 October the government had cut petrol by 1 cent and raised diesel by 4 cents.

What it means for visitors
The new prices apply up to and including Monday 2 November, which covers the whole All Saints' weekend. 1 November is a public holiday in Croatia, and many people travel to visit their family graves.
- A 60-litre tank of Eurosuper 95 costs at most 101.40 euros, of Eurodiesel at most 112.80 euros.
- The cap does not apply at motorway service stations: according to the reasoning of the decree, traders set their margin freely there (Novi list). In the next town after the exit the cap applies again.
- The cap covers the standard grades. Premium grades such as V-Power, G-Power or Class Plus cost more.
- Selling below the cap is allowed. The Ministry of the Economy's search on mzoe-gor.hr shows the price at every single station.
- Daily prices of all suppliers, as measured by the Croatian Auto Club HAK, are on our page Prices in Croatia.
If you drive through Austria and Slovenia, you need vignettes there; the costs by starting point are in our overview Driving to Croatia. For the drive home on Sunday, check the waiting times at the borders.
