Updated 4 November 2026. The Croatian government currently sets new maximum prices for petrol, diesel, blue diesel and LPG every week. It usually decides on Monday, and the prices apply from Tuesday for seven days. The current caps were set on Monday 2 November and apply from Tuesday 3 to Monday 9 November 2026 (Government of Croatia). Eurodiesel costs at most 1.89 euros a litre, 1 cent more than the week before. Eurosuper 95 stays at a maximum of 1.69 euros.

Blue diesel for farming and fishing also rises by 1 cent. LPG goes up more: gas in bottles and gas for large tanks each cost 10 cents a kilogram more. The table shows the maximum prices of the last three weeks and the price the government calculates without its measures (Government, 26 October, Government, 19 October).

Trader premiums and excise duties stay at last week's level, the government says. A formula based on the basic fuel price of the past seven days sets the cap. Oil got dearer in that time. Brent reached its highest level since April at the end of October, and on Monday a barrel cost about 111 dollars, according to Novi list. Without the government's measures diesel would cost 2.20 euros and petrol 1.84 euros.

  • A 60-litre tank of Eurodiesel costs at most 113.40 euros, of Eurosuper 95 at most 101.40 euros. Without the cap, diesel would come to 132.00 euros.
  • Only the standard grades are capped. Premium grades such as V-Power, G-Power or Class Plus Premium cost more.
  • If you travel by motorhome with gas bottles, LPG now costs at most 2.45 euros a kilogram.

Prices by company

Since Tuesday 3 November 2026, new maximum fuel prices apply in Croatia, and the filling stations have switched over. The price table of the Croatian Automobile Club HAK is based on what retailers report to the Ministry of Economy and shows the values by company (HAK). At all six large chains the median for Eurodiesel is now 1.89 euros and for Eurosuper 95 1.69 euros a litre. That is exactly the cap the government set on Monday (Government of Croatia). Diesel costs 1 cent more than last week, petrol the same.

The table shows, for the standard grades, the lowest and highest price each company reports across its stations, plus the median. The median shows what most stations of a chain charge. HAK lists the Shell stations under their operator, Coral Croatia.

As last week, Shell reports strikingly low single values at individual stations: 1.42 euros for petrol and 1.43 euros for diesel. Adria Oil is also below the cap at some stations, at 1.64 euros for petrol and 1.72 euros for diesel. The table does not say which stations these are; the price at every single station is on HAK's interactive map and in its apps.

Prices on the motorway

According to HAK, the highest prices are usually found at motorway stations. There retailers set their margin freely (Novi list). For diesel, INA, Petrol and Tifon report up to 2.02 euros and Lukoil up to 2.03 euros. That is up to 14 cents more than in town, or up to 7 euros on 50 litres. A week ago the top value was 2.13 euros at Adria Oil, 25 cents above the cap at the time. This week the highest diesel price reported by Shell and Adria Oil is exactly the cap of 1.89 euros. For Eurosuper 95, INA, Petrol and Tifon charge up to 1.76 euros on the motorway, Lukoil up to 1.77 euros.

You also pay more if you choose a premium grade at the pump. INA Class Plus Premium and Adria Oil G-Power 95 have a median of 1.84 euros, Lukoil Ecto 95 1.85 euros. Premium diesel has a median between 2.05 euros (Lukoil Ecto) and 2.25 euros (Shell V-Power) depending on the chain, Super 100 between 2.16 euros (Lukoil Ecto) and 2.30 euros (Shell V-Power). Autogas has gone up: depending on the chain the median is 1.04 to 1.09 euros a litre, compared with 1.01 to 1.04 euros a week ago.

Compared with neighbouring countries

Filling up in Croatia remains cheaper than in Germany, Austria and Italy, and off the motorway slightly cheaper than in Slovenia and Hungary. The European Commission publishes average prices per country every week. According to the values HAK shows on 3 November, petrol averages 2.17 euros and diesel 2.30 euros in Germany, 1.77 and 2.13 euros in Austria, 1.73 and 1.91 euros in Slovenia, 1.75 and 1.93 euros in Hungary and 2.01 and 2.25 euros in Italy (European Commission, Weekly Oil Bulletin). Compared with the Croatian cap, a 50-litre tank works out as follows:

  • Compared with Germany: petrol about 24 euros cheaper, diesel about 20 euros.
  • Compared with Austria: petrol about 4 euros cheaper, diesel about 12 euros.
  • Compared with Italy: petrol about 16 euros cheaper, diesel about 18 euros.
  • Compared with Slovenia and Hungary: petrol about 2 to 3 euros cheaper, diesel about 1 to 2 euros.

At up to 2.03 euros, however, diesel on a Croatian motorway costs more than the average in Slovenia and Hungary. If you drive a diesel through these countries, it pays to leave the motorway to fill up, because the cap applies at stations off the motorway.
