An Air Serbia plane due to leave Split Airport for Belgrade at 15:20 on Monday, 5 October 2026, was evacuated after a bomb threat from a passenger. According to the Split-Dalmatia police, a 75-year-old man on board told the crew at around 15:25, before take-off, that there was a bomb on the plane, and then said he was joking. He was arrested at the airport (Slobodna Dalmacija, net.hr).

The aircraft was emptied and, according to the police, was to be searched again before departure, with passengers and their luggage screened a second time. The police statement concerns only this flight (Dnevnik.hr).

Flying from Split on Tuesday and Wednesday

Allow extra time over the next two days for a different reason. During the MED9 summit of Mediterranean EU leaders the police regulate traffic on the route from the airport into Split from Tuesday 16:00 until Wednesday 19:00, with short stops whenever a delegation passes (police). From Tuesday 14:00 to Wednesday 18:00 Promet Split buses 2 and 38 turn at the Pantana roundabout instead of the airport and leave for Split from the Divulje 2 stop (Promet Split). More: Croatia v Spain and the summit closures and from Split Airport to the city.
