Van Gogh Alive opens at the Zagreb Fair (Zagrebački velesajam) on Friday 6 November 2026 at 12:00. It is in pavilion 10A on the south side of the fairground, Avenija Dubrovnik 15, and runs until 24 January 2027, according to the Zagreb Tourist Board. That puts it right in the weeks when many visitors from Austria, Germany and Switzerland come for Advent in Zagreb. Adults pay 18 euros on weekdays and 20 euros at weekends. Van Gogh's works appear there as large-format projections, as the organiser's questions and answers state (Van Gogh Alive Zagreb).

What is inside pavilion 10A
The organiser calls Van Gogh Alive the most visited multi-sensory exhibition in the world and gives more than 11 million visitors in 115 cities. More than 3,000 images, photographs and videos run to classical music, with light and scents. The Zagreb stop is organised by the company Outbox; the show was created and produced by Grande Experiences.
- SENSORY4 gallery: the main space, with monumental projections, moving images, sound and scents that fill the whole hall.
- Sunflower room: mirrors, colour and light around one of Van Gogh's best-known motifs, also meant for photos.
- Vincent's room: a walk-in, three-dimensional reconstruction of the painting The Bedroom in Arles.
- Finding Vincent VR: a 15-minute virtual journey through Van Gogh's life and the places that inspired him. It costs extra and is meant for ages 8 and up; younger children only while a parent holds their hand.
- Painting workshop: a room for drawing and colouring your own versions of his motifs, for all ages.
The organiser suggests 75 to 90 minutes for the visit. Time inside is not limited.

What it means for visitors
On weekdays, plan around midday: from Monday to Friday the exhibition only opens at 12:00. Mornings are only possible at weekends, when tickets cost 2 euros more. For an Advent trip on a Saturday it makes sense to book the slot online in advance, because the number of tickets per slot is limited, and the organiser itself recommends buying ahead, especially for weekends and school holidays. A family with two children pays 60 euros on a weekday and 68 euros at the weekend.

The fairground is in Novi Zagreb, south of the Sava, so not in the old town, but it is easy to reach by tram or bus. In November the same grounds also host the book fair Interliber. If you are planning a weekend, travel and hotels are covered in our Advent weekend guide for Zagreb; more on the city is on the Zagreb page.
