July is full summer: festival season, warm nights, and the Adriatic at its liveliest. It is busy, but mornings and late evenings still belong to you.
- Expect motorway queues on Saturdays, travel Tuesday to Friday if you can.
- Book accommodation and car ferries with vehicles well ahead.
- Heat peaks near forty degrees inland; old stone towns store the heat into the night.
