Croatia in August
August is the peak: the warmest sea of the year and every town at full volume. It rewards early starts and island evenings, and it punishes Saturday driving.
- Changeover Saturdays are the busiest days of the year on the A1 and at the Krk bridge.
- Wildfire risk is real; open fire outdoors is banned along the coast.
- The second half of August gets quieter by the day as families leave.
