When to visit
Croatia in April
April is spring proper: wildflowers in the national parks, Easter processions on the islands, and the first properly warm afternoons on the Riva in Split.
- Ideal for Plitvice, Krka and Istria's hill towns before summer heat and queues.
- Weather can flip within a day, pack one warm layer and one rain layer.
- Around Easter, hotels on Hvar and Korčula fill earlier than you would expect.
