Why it is worth your time

The lookout above Kolombarica is the cliff edge on Kamenjak's south-western shore from which opens what one comes to the cape for at all: open sea without a single obstacle to the horizon, the Porer lighthouse standing alone on its rock two and a half kilometres away, and cliffs that drop vertically into dark blue water. There is no railing and no platform, only stone and wind, so approach the edge with sense and keep a distance with children. A few steps into the maquis behind the edge hides the famous safari bar, built of driftwood and branches, with shade, music and drinks, which works through the season and which made this part of Kamenjak an institution.

The lookout is reached by bicycle or by car on gravel tracks, and it is best to come an hour before sunset: the sun falls exactly behind Porer, the sea reddens, and the bora or the maestral give the sound a photograph lacks.
