Why it is worth your time

The surfing bay by Premantura is one of the most reliable windsurfing spots of the northern Adriatic: a shallow bay on the peninsula's western side, with a sand and shingle bottom and with a maestral that in summer begins almost daily around noon and blows until evening, at a strength that suits beginners and those who already know. The shallowness is the key: one stands waist-deep even a hundred metres from shore, so learning goes without fear and falls do not hurt. On the shore work sailing schools and equipment rental, with courses from a few hours to a whole week, and beside them kayaks, SUP boards and a kite school.

For spectators the bay is just as interesting: in the afternoon hundreds of sails move across the shallows, which is the best sight in the area. The bay is reached by the road toward Kamenjak, and the car park is by the shore. If you have one afternoon slot and want to try something new, this is the right place.
