The largest folklore gathering in Croatia

The 61st Vinkovačke jeseni runs from 11 to 20 September 2026 under the motto Vlak slavonske ravnice, the train of the Slavonian plain. Jelena Rozga opens on 11 September, the children's parade goes on the 13th, and the great procession fills the last Sunday. What is being shown is not a stage act: the costumes belong to the villages that wear them, and the difference is visible from the first row.

Older than almost anywhere

Vinkovci claims to be among the longest continuously inhabited places in Europe, with settlement going back some eight thousand years, and two Roman emperors were born here, Valentinian I and Valens. None of that is why people come in September, but it explains the confidence with which a town of thirty thousand puts on the country's biggest folklore event and does not feel the need to explain itself.
