Buje Ethnographic Museum
A collection of tools and objects from Istrian rural life.
A hill town above the vineyards, known as the sentinel of Istria.
Buje stands at 222 metres on a hill visible from the whole northwestern corner of Istria, which is why it is called the sentinel of Istria. The core is concentric: the lanes wind around the church of St Servulus at the top, and from the edge you look over vineyards, the sea at Umag and, on a clear day, the Alps.
Unlike the coast, it stays walkable in August, and the temperature is a couple of degrees lower.
Park below the old town: up there the lanes are too narrow for a car.
