The town's closing party of the season, two nights of concerts on the main square and fireworks over the harbour. The 2026 date is not in the official calendar yet. Here is the pattern of the last years and where the date appears first.
Checked: 25 August 2026
Rovinjska noć is how Rovinj closes the main season: two evenings of concerts on Trg maršala Tita and Trg Riviera, food stalls along the waterfront, and fireworks over the harbour at the end. The tourist board has run it for more than fifty-five years. As of late August 2026 the date for this year is not in the official calendar, so anyone planning a trip around it is working from the pattern of previous years.
The pattern of previous years
| Year | Dates |
|---|---|
| 2018 | 1 September |
| 2019 | 30 and 31 August |
| 2020 | 28 and 29 August |
| 2024 | 4 to 7 September |
The constant is the turn of the month: the last weekend in August or the first in September, never later. It is a Saturday and Sunday, with the bigger name playing on the second night and the fireworks closing it. If you want to be in Rovinj for it without a confirmed date, the safe window is the weekend either side of 1 September.
How the evening runs
- Two stages: the main square (Trg maršala Tita) takes the headline act, Trg Riviera runs a second, smaller programme at the same time.
- Music starts between half past eight and half past nine, depending on the year. Nothing important happens before then.
- The fireworks go up around eleven on the closing night and last about a quarter of an hour. They are launched over the water, so the harbour and the Zlatni rt side both work as a view.
- Entry is free, and the old town fills up. Book a room well before the date is announced, not after.
Where the date appears first
The tourist board publishes it in its own event calendar at rovinj-tourism.com, usually a few weeks ahead, and the town posts a programme with the line-up shortly after. Neither carries the date this year yet. Everything circulating on other sites at the moment repeats the 2024 programme.
