Why it is worth your time

Zamalin is the calmest part of the Vodice shore toward the west: a long belt of shingle and stone on the way to Tribunj, with a pine wood descending almost to the water and with enough room that even in August one finds a metre without a neighbour twenty centimetres away. It is reached by the coastal promenade from Vodice, some twenty minutes of easy walking or five minutes by bicycle, and the car parks by the road above the beach fill up quickly in summer. The sea is clean and deepens quickly, and the pines give shade all day, which is the greatest value here: no concrete, no music, only needles, stone and sea.

There are few facilities, a seasonal bar and showers on part of the beach, bring everything else. Because of the calm and the shade Zamalin is a favourite of locals and of guests who spend the whole day on the beach; families with smaller children rather choose the shallow coves closer to town. Toward evening, when the sun drops toward Tribunj, the best sunsets in the area are here.
