Why it is worth your time

Srima is the settlement east of Vodice, grown together with the town into one whole but with an entirely different rhythm: instead of a waterfront with cafés there is a row of small coves and concrete bathing spots, and instead of hotels, apartments in which families summer who return every year. The shore is indented, with a dozen small coves lining up toward Tribunj, and between them pines and low walls; each cove has its regular guests and its place in the sun, and whoever comes early easily finds a metre of their own.

The sea here is calm because it is sheltered by the islets of Prvic and Zlarin, and the shallows in several places suit children. Along the shore runs a promenade connecting Srima with Vodice, half an hour of easy walking, so the waterfront and the market are reached without a car. In Srima work shops, bakeries and a few taverns, and the quiet is why those who find Vodice too loud spend their summers here.
