The monument to the victims of Yugoslav communism stands by the marina and is one of the few such markers on the Croatian coast: a stone stele set up in 2015 in memory of the people of Vodice and its surroundings who in the years after the Second World War perished without trial, were imprisoned or forcibly resettled. The inscription lists names and years, and the monument was raised by the local community and the families, not by the state, which explains its modest size and personal tone. For a visitor who knows Vodice only as a summer resort, this is a reminder that every coastal town also has a history that does not fit in a brochure; boards by the monument briefly explain the context.

It lies along the path toward the marina, visible from the road, and the visit takes a few minutes. Together with the monument to the defenders of the Homeland War in the harbour, it forms a pair showing how the town remembers two different periods of its recent past, both quietly and without pathos.
