Six weeks, twenty locations, no entrance fee anywhere
Zagreb Advent runs from 28 November 2026 to 6 January 2027 and takes over Zrinjevac, Tomićeva, the Upper Town and around twenty further places. Zrinjevac gets the lights strung through the plane trees and a bandstand programme, Tomićeva the ice rink, the Upper Town the quieter end of it. The concerts are free and most of them are outdoors.
How to do it without queueing for everything
Weekday afternoons in early December are the whole thing at a third of the density. The weekends before Christmas are shoulder to shoulder on Tomićeva and Bogovićeva, and if that is what you came for, fine, but Zrinjevac at four on a Tuesday with the lights just coming on is the better memory. Fritule and kuhano vino at the stands, and the tram is free in the centre.
