Why it is worth your time

Between the main station and the Lisinski hall stand the brick ruins of Paromlin, one of Zagreb's most important monuments of industrial architecture, built in 1906–1908. A 1988 fire left it a skeleton in the middle of the city; for decades it has awaited restoration while ivy claims the walls. A powerful image of the past trapped in the present.
