At the heart of Maksimir stands the Vidikovac, a yellow pavilion raised in 1841–1843, the park's most prominent building and the point from which the paths fan out. From its terrace there was once a view over the treetops; today it is still the main landmark and meeting point amid the greenery.
Use it as your orientation hub, every main path through Maksimir radiates from here.
