In a baroque Jesuit complex on Jezuitski Square sits the city's most prestigious gallery for major exhibitions. Beneath its vaults, around a quiet atrium, world retrospectives and Croatian classics take turns. Treat it as a rhythm change in the day plan. The best version is not to rush through it, but to use the stop for atmosphere, photos, a short rest and a better sense of the neighbourhood around the main sights.
Check what's on before climbing up: the gallery only shines during its temporary blockbuster shows.
