Why it is worth your time
In southern Zagreb spreads the vast green plain of the hippodrome, opened in 1972, with grandstands and kilometres of track for horse racing. Its sheer size also made it the city's largest open-air concert ground: in July 2025 it hosted a concert with a record ~485,000 tickets sold, one of the best-attended single-artist concerts in world history. Otherwise a calm, grassy expanse for walks and races.
