A tree-lined promenade along the old city walls, with benches, lanterns and the loveliest sunset view over the Lower Town. In summer it comes alive with the bohemian 'Strossmartre' festival of music and art. Pause here for the audio guide and look beyond the obvious view: the surrounding streets, benches and daily movement explain why this stop belongs in a walking route, not only on a postcard list.
Come in the evening with a drink, when the gas lanterns are lit by hand.
