Beneath an elegant Art Nouveau dome lie lavish folk costumes, lace, gold embroidery and ritual objects from every Croatian region: from the Pannonian plain to the Dalmatian islands. A colourful treasury of tradition. Treat it as a rhythm change in the day plan. The best version is not to rush through it, but to use the stop for atmosphere, photos, a short rest and a better sense of the neighbourhood around the main sights.
Look for the gold-embroidered Konavle costumes: the same region whose dress you'll see near Dubrovnik.
