In a forest on the city's north-east lies the memorial ground where the Ustaše executed thousands during the Second World War. Vojin Bakić's abstract metal sculptures shimmer among the trees: an almost empty, meditative space of remembrance far from the tourists.
Come for a quiet walk among the trees and sculptures: it is one of Zagreb's most contemplative corners.
