Why it is worth your time

The Riva runs along the southern wall of Diocletian's Palace, a broad promenade of palms, cafe terraces and white stone polished by generations of strollers. Take a seat with a coffee and watch ferries glide out toward the islands while half of Split parades past your table. Morning or midnight, this is where the city takes its pulse.

Croatia Atlas tip

Come on Saturday late morning for 'špica', when all of Split dresses up for coffee on the Riva.
