Why it is worth your time
In the little art-nouveau hall by Marmontova the catch is laid out on marble counters every morning: sardines and sea bream, squid, scampi, sometimes a tuna that stops passers-by. A local quirk: thanks to the sulphur springs nearby there are famously almost no flies, a fact old Splićani love to repeat. Liveliest early; by noon the marble is already washed down.
