Why it is worth your time

Alone among the palace's four gates, this west gate has stayed in constant use through the centuries, and daily life still streams through it: out of Diocletian's Palace onto Pjaca, the People's Square with its cafés. Look up in the passage: above the gate sits a bell tower with a clock whose face carries 24 numerals instead of twelve.
