Why it is worth your time

Fruit was once sold on this little square just behind the Riva, hence the name locals still use today. Overhead looms a hefty tower, remnant of a Venetian fortress, next to it the baroque facade of Milesi Palace. In the middle stands Marko Marulić, the father of Croatian literature, cast in bronze by Ivan Meštrović.
