Why it is worth your time

Built into the slope beneath the Kaštel fortress, just behind the Archaeological Museum, the small Roman theatre still shows its semicircular stone tiers. Sit where audiences gathered almost two thousand years ago and look out over the old town rooftops. In summer the stage comes alive again with concerts and performances.

Croatia Atlas tip

Combine your visit with the climb to the Kaštel fortress just above; it offers the best view over the harbour and the city.
