Istria's finds from prehistory to the Middle Ages, by the twin gate.

Right beside the ancient twin gate of Porta Gemina, this museum gathers what Istria's soil has yielded over millennia: prehistoric tools, Roman stone monuments, jewellery and everyday objects reaching into the Middle Ages. Between amphorae and carved gravestones you can read the whole story of the peninsula. Just behind the building, the tiers of the small Roman theatre climb the hillside.
Right next to the museum you pass through the Porta Gemina, the Roman twin gate; the small Roman theatre behind it is only a few steps away.
A small next-step selection from the same city.
