Find the small white church just back from the waterfront, raised by Benedictine monks whose abbey ('opatija') gave the town its name. First built around 1420 and rebuilt in baroque style, it shelters a Pietà by sculptor Ivan Rendić. Pause in the quiet courtyard before the promenade crowds return.
