Stand on the rocky shore and watch the slender girl lift a seagull toward the sky, the city's best-loved emblem since 1956. Behind her the Kvarner bay opens wide, and at sunset the bronze glows against the water. Sculptor Zvonko Car gave Opatija the image that now graces every postcard.
