Why it is worth your time
A row of stone arches opens straight onto the square, the kind of covered civic hall Istrian hill towns built for markets, meetings and shade. Step underneath and you find one of the coolest, most sheltered corners of the old town, with the life of the square unfolding just beyond the columns.
