Why it is worth your time

Pietrapelosa is one of the best preserved Istrian castles, set on a crag above the Bračana river. Its name, Italian for hairy stone, comes from the moss that has always grown on its walls.

Croatia Atlas tip

A forest path leads up; wear good shoes and bring water for the climb to the ruins.
