Guarding the mouth of the old harbour, this massive three-tier fort once dropped a chain across the water to keep enemy ships out. Today its vaulted gun rooms hold the Maritime Museum, models, flags and instruments from Dubrovnik's mighty merchant fleet, while the cool ground-floor casemates house an aquarium of Adriatic life.
Combine the two inside, aquarium downstairs, maritime museum up, then walk out onto the breakwater behind it.
