Why it is worth your time
A short boat hop from the old harbour lands you on a forested island of legend, said to be cursed by the monks Napoleon expelled. Peacocks strut through a botanical garden and a ruined Benedictine monastery, a saltwater 'Dead Sea' lagoon warms up for swimming, and the original Iron Throne from Game of Thrones waits in the cloister. No one may stay after dark. Practical: boats from the old town harbour roughly every 15 to 30 minutes; the ticket (30 €, children 5 €) covers the crossing, reserve entry and the throne.
