Since the Middle Ages this has been Zadar's living room, framed by the 13th-century City Loggia, once an open court of justice, and the Renaissance Guardhouse with its big town clock. Cafe tables spill across the flagstones where citizens have gathered, gossiped and protested for seven hundred years.
