Built entirely of stone without a drop of mortar, the cathedral took more than a century and the genius of Juraj Dalmatinac to complete. Walk around the apse and count the 71 carved faces of ordinary townsfolk gazing back at you. Step inside to stand beneath a roof and dome assembled from interlocking stone slabs.
