Valkane is the bay where Pula's locals do their swimming: close to town, with pebbles and wide concrete platforms lined towel to towel in summer. You swim in clear water and doze on the sun-warmed slabs. You come here not for a postcard backdrop but for a genuine slice of everyday Pula.
The Lungomare coastal promenade starts right at the beach; the walk along the water towards Stoja is loveliest in the evening.
