Why it is worth your time

In the nineteenth century the Austro-Hungarian navy laid out this cemetery for its sailors, when Pula was its main war harbour. Among cypresses and weathered gravestones rest seamen and officers of many nations whose voyages ended in this port town. Today it is one of the quietest corners of Pula, more park than cemetery, made for a slow, thoughtful walk.
