The most popular beach on the Verudela peninsula, Blue-Flag Ambrela mixes pebble and concrete sunbathing decks with shallow, gently shelving water and a backdrop of Aleppo pines. Showers, cafes and a floating water park make it the easy choice with kids, and the swimming stays calm long after exposed beaches turn choppy.
Arrive before 10am in July to claim shade under the pines: the flat rocks fill up fast.
