Biokovo Nature Park Entrance
Start of the mountain road up into Biokovo's karst world.
Stalls and little shops along the riva: lavender, olive oil, sea sponges and an ice cream in hand.
Under the palms of Obala kralja Tomislava the souvenir stalls line up: bags of Hvar lavender, oils and rakija from the hinterland, sponges and shells, straw hats for the beach. In the evening, when the riva becomes the whole town's promenade, the little shops glow late and shopping turns into an evening stroll.
Buy lavender as seed sachets, not bottles: the scent lasts all winter.

A historic fortified site near Makarska, a witness to the area's turbulent past.
