Why it is worth your time
Buba lies a little way from the centre, where Makarska grows quieter: a cove of pebbles and stone, pines behind, strikingly clear water in front. If the long main beach feels too busy, this is where you escape to and get more sea per square metre. Bring a mask, there is plenty to see between the rocks.
