Why it is worth your time

Dubrovnik's beloved baroque church, rebuilt in 1715 after a fire, is dedicated to St Blaise, the city's patron for a thousand years. On the high altar a silver statue of the saint cradles a model of pre-earthquake Dubrovnik, the most detailed image of the medieval city that survives. Every February the whole town fills the square for his feast.

Croatia Atlas tip

Look at the silver St Blaise on the altar, he holds a model of the city as it looked before the 1667 quake.
