Why it is worth your time

Built into the eastern walls from the 14th century, the Dominican monastery looks like a fortress from outside and a Garden of Eden within, a late-Gothic cloister of slender arches around an orange-tree courtyard. Its museum holds Dubrovnik School paintings, a reliquary of gold and a Titian altarpiece, far from the Stradun crowds just steps below.
