Why it is worth your time
Just past the Ploče gate a pebble beach drops into clear water, and as you swim the city walls and the green island of Lokrum sit right in front of you. Few cities look this good from the sea. In the morning the beach still belongs to early swimmers; later, loungers and music fill the bay.
