The bridge to Krk backs up in the direction of the mainland, with the queue starting well before the toll area. It is a Saturday and Sunday pattern, and it is avoidable.

Checked: 16 August 2026

The Krk bridge on the state road DC102 is one of the reliable summer bottlenecks. The queue forms in the direction of the mainland and can reach back several kilometres along the island road on changeover weekends, when one week of guests leaves and the next arrives.

  • Leave the island before nine in the morning or after seven in the evening on a Saturday.
  • Fuel up on the island. Standing in a queue with a warning light is a bad combination.
  • Check the live road situation before you set off, the queue length changes hour by hour.
