In a 19th-century palace above the harbour, one of the world's finest collections of Roman glass glows in the dark: vials, goblets and iridescent tear-bottles dug from Dalmatian graves. Best of all is the live workshop, where artisans blow replicas the ancient way and you can try shaping molten glass yourself.
