Why it is worth your time
The Gradska straža, the old City Guard, stands with its clock tower on Narodni trg, Zadar's living room for centuries. Sentries once kept an eye on the square's bustle from here; today everyone just glances up at the big clock. Cafe tables fill the paving all around, with the Renaissance building as their calm backdrop.
