Why it is worth your time
Žurkovo cuts a deep, sheltered notch into the Kostrena shore just east of Rijeka: a little harbour of local boats on one side, spots for swimming on the other. The calm, clear water invites long, easy laps, and the rhythm is set by anglers, swimmers and owners pottering about their boats. It feels like the neighbourhood's shared backyard on the Adriatic.
