Makarska's harbour sits in a bay guarded by the wooded peninsulas of Sveti Petar and Osejava; inside, fishing boats, excursion ships and the ferry rock gently at their moorings. Behind them runs the palm-lined Riva with its cafés, and above everything stands the grey wall of Biokovo. In the evening the waterfront becomes a stage where the whole town strolls up and down.
At sunset, walk out onto the Sveti Petar peninsula: from the park at its tip you overlook harbour, town and Biokovo.
